Welcome to my blog!
My name is Kaci Alderson, I'm from Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!), and I'm currently a junior at Mercyhurst University. I am pursuing a double major in Sport Business Management and Finance as well as a minor in Creative Writing. I am always busy at school as I'm a member of the Women's Softball team on campus. A fun fact about me is that my roommate and I rescued a cat named Boo and he is the most cuddly and cute cat that keeps me motivated each semester!
I have thoroughly enjoyed writing from the time I was young and that's why I decided to pick up a creative writing minor. Writing and sports are the largest aspects of my life, so the best way I knew to combine those was to take on a role that allowed me to write about sports! I am currently the lead writer for an NFL social media brand named Offsides. We have nearly 40,000 followers on Instagram and have gained much traction on our newly launched website. I am responsible for making the post schedule, assigning articles, writing a weekly article, and editing all content we put out. I have found a new love for journalism as well because of my internship this past summer. I worked at PONY International Headquarters and was able to interview and write articles about people from all across the globe.
I'm hoping this course allows me to expand my knowledge of the English subject and I'm excited that I get the opportunity to blog throughout!
